Eccovi una moto che ha fatto parte della recente storia dell’Harley Davidson, prodotta dal 1998 al 2010 in 3 versioni, prima con motore 1340 a carburatore per poi montare un 1450 a iniezione, anche se come estetica è cambiata ben poco nei suoi 10 anni di produzione.
Questo modello seppur prodotto in USA è stato ideato e progettato alla Numero Uno di Milano dal mitico Carlo Talamo che negli anni 90 aveva ideato diverse special realizzate in esemplari unici o a tiratura limitata, molto spesso costruite con l’unico scopo di stupire o di dare sfogo al suo estro. In quel periodo la famiglia delle Softail comprendeva modelli FX ed FL, tra cui la FXSTS Softail Springer del ‘93, il classico FXSTC 1340 Softail Custom, ma anche la FXSTSB Bad Boy del 1995, anch’essa con forcella Springer.
Proprio partendo da una softail custom di serie alla fine del 1997 Talamo apportò alcune modifiche ben precise e con pochi accessori, come una sella Badlander e un manubrio drag bar più stretto, che più cattiva, ma soprattutto annerì con vernice a polvere l’intero motore, cosa per allora assolutamente controtendenza. Altri dettagli, verniciati di nero lucido, erano il dashboard sul serbatoio, i supporti del parafango posteriore, il filtro aria e il serbatoio dell’olio, tutti particolari che fino all’ora erano sempre stati cromati. Diciamo quasi una rivoluzione estetica che piacque molto a Milwaukee tant’è che dal 1998 venne prodotta entrando nel catalogo Harley.

Although produced in the USA, this model was conceived and designed at the Number One in Milan by the legendary Carlo Talamo who in the 90s had created several specials made in unique or limited edition specimens, very often built with the sole purpose of amaze or give vent to his inspiration. At that time the Softail family included FX and FL models, including the 1993 ‘FXSTS Softail Springer, the classic FXSTC 1340 Softail Custom, but also the 1995 FXSTSB Bad Boy, also with a Springer fork. Just starting from a standard custom softail at the end of 1997 Talamo made some very precise modifications with few accessories, such as a Badlander saddle and a narrower drag bar handlebar, which is worse, but above all it will blacken the entire engine with powder paint , which by then absolutely bucked the trend. Other details, painted in glossy black, were the dashboard on the tank, the supports of the rear mudguard, the air filter and the oil tank, all details that until now had always been chromed. Let’s say almost an aesthetic revolution that Milwaukee liked a lot, so much so that since 1998 it was produced by entering the Harley catalog.
