Ammiriamo questa splendida Harley Davidson vintage Knucklehead del 1941 restaurata in modo perfetta da Hank Fisher.
Lui da sempre attento ai particolari anche questa volta ha realizzato un capolavoro, come possiamo vedere nelle foto seguenti.
Il 1941 è stato il primo anno del motore 74ci, che era un motore rrelativamente grande in quell’epoca infatti aveva al difetto in vari casi di rompersi proprio per questo motivo.
Hank ha trovato questa moto in un fienile in condizioni pessime, era completamente da ristrutturare e proprio per questo motivo Hank ha accettato questa sfida, l’ha acquistata e ha iniziato la ricerca dei vari pezzi originali di quell’anno per poterla reastaurare nel modo più fedele possibile. E’ stato molto difficile perchè alcune parti sono molto rare e difficilissime da trovare, come tutte le moto prima del 42 per le quali tutti i pezzi venivano prodotti internamente dalla Harley e quindi ora difficilissimi da recuperare originali, ad es. il fanale posteriore che spazia solo dal 1939-1941 , il freno anteriore è stato fatto solo nel 1941, così anche i rockers della forcella anteriore , i mozzi anteriori e posteriori , e tante altre componeti di varie parti.
Oltre alla ricerca dei vari pezzi originali, la precisione di Hank necessitava di un lavoro preciso su ogni pezzo, in particolare andava parkerizzato , che è un trattamente speciale che porta ad avere un ossido nero piatto, tipo una canna di fucile , o cadmiato , che è una placcatura protettiva color argento.
Stessa difficoltà ha richiesto anche la verniciatura in quanto il colore originale di un particolare verde è stato fatto solo in quell’anno e non era facile riprodurlo identico in quanto sulla moto il colore era completamente sparito a causa degli anni e del tempo passato nel fienile, per fortuna Hank ha recuparato un pezzo di serbatoio da un’altra moto di quell’anno tramite un suo amico in cui si vedeva il colore originale e così si è potuto riprodurlo in modo preciso.
Il risultato finale è quello che vedete nelle foto suguenti ed è un restauro fedele e perfetto della moto originale del 1941…
