Molti di noi l’avranno immaginato leggendo le mille avventure nei libri scritti da Roberto Parodi, e allora eccovi il mitico Road King fedele compagno di viaggio del Parodi.
Una Harley Davidson Road King del 98 che in questi anni ha subito varie metamorfosi adattandosi ai desideri e ai cambiamenti del suo proprietario, come capita spesso alle moto dei biker che vivono la moto in un certo modo, oserei dire i veri biker. Secondo me è un bellissimo bobber, sicuramente molto meglio della versione originale, sia perchè rispecchia anche il mio stile personale ma soprattutto perchè non ha più tutti quei fronzoli che spesso ci sono sulle Harley di serie, che sicuramente andavano di moda negli anni 80 e 90, ma che secondo me in un certo senso soffocano l’anima e lo spirito vero della moto. Per chi mi legge da tempo non è un mistero che il mio stile preferito è il bobber e quindi le foto che vi ho messo qui sotto sono un esempio da cui poter prendere spunto e un piacere da osservare nei dettagli.
Molti i lavori fatti sia personalmente da Roberto sia aiutato da qualche amico tra cui spicca il famoso sciur Magni, noto meccanico Harley di Milano. Non è il caso di addentrarsi nei vari particolari che caratterizzano questo vecchio King anche perchè sono cambiati negli anni e oggi non è più precisamente come la vediamo qua sotto… Peccato solo che ultimamente, per quanto ne so, venga usata molto meno pubblicamente e per i suoi viaggi più recenti il Parodi utilizza modelli BMW ovviamente sempre rigorosamente vintage.
English version: Many of us would have imagined reading the many adventures in books written by Roberto Parodi, and then here’s the legendary King Road faithful traveling companion of Parodi. An Harley Davidson Road King 98 who in recent years has undergone several metamorphoses adapting to the desires and changes of its own, as often happens to the motion of the bike riders who live in a certain way, I would say the real biker. I think it’s a beautiful bobber, certainly much better than the original version, and also because it reflects my personal style but also because it no longer has all the frills that often there are on stock Harley-Davidson, which surely were fashionable in the 80’s and 90 but I think in a sense choke the soul and the spirit of the true motorcycle. For those who read me a long time it is no secret that my favorite style is the bobber so the photos that I put below is an example from which we can take inspiration and a pleasure to observe in detail. Many jobs done personally by Roberto is helped by a few friends among them the famous “sciur” Magni, known mechanical Harley Milan. It is not appropriate to go into the various details that give this old King also because have changed over the years and today is no longer exactly as we see it down here… Just a pity that lately, to my knowledge, is used much less publicly and for his travels latest Parodi uses BMW obviously always strictly vintage.
