Torniamo ad ammirare una creazione del mitico Roland Sands che questa volta forse per la prima volta ha messo le mani su una Indian per di più trasformandola in stile molto vintage creando questa Indian Track Chief stile boardtracker dalle linee al quanto strane.
Come vediamo dalle foto il risultato finale è irriconoscibile visto che è partito da una bagger!
Come sappiamo Roland predilige lo stile board tracker e flat track ne abbiamo viste diverse di sue opere di questo tipo, per questa special ha direttamente realizzato il telaio rigido in tubi al cromo-molibdeno con un solo braccio per la ruota posteriore, ancorata sul lato destro. Il disco freno è interno, mentre la corona è esterna, bella trovata.
Il motore Thunder Stroke 111 da 1.811 cc, un bisonte che si impone con tutto il suo fascino che ricorda i vecchi Flathead, come si vede è stato riverniciato di nero e dotato di coperchi trasparenti RSD che permettono di vedere gli ingranaggi della distribuzione e della frizione, inoltre sul lato sinistro compare un filtro K&N con cover RSD Blunt.
Altro richiamo alla gloriosa storia Indian è la famosa forcella girder Paughco, con la mezza balestra affiancata da un piccolo ammortizzatore Fox da mountain bike, ovviamente tutta la ciclistica viene stravolta in base alle idee finali di Roland, così come il bellissimo serbatoio in perfetto stile boardtracker anni Venti e realizzato in leggerissimo titanio che secondo me è uno dei pezzi forti di questa special.
